This is not the first time McMahon has pulled from his WWE assets to fund the upcoming XFL. We reported back in March that McMahon had sold over 3 million shares of his WWE stock, a value of roughly $270 million. He also sold over $100 Million December 2017 when he had the initial plans to relaunch the XFL.

This theory was set into high gear after Triple H liked and unliked a tweet that suggested this. However, that is not the case. It just means that Vince McMahon will have even more on his plate.

So far @VinceMcMahon’s pattern is getting more and more similar to how he did it in 2001, where he does both and the entire company basically does both as well. 2/2 #WWE @TripleH

Only time will tell how everything pans out, but Vince McMahon is said to have financial backing to keep the XFL afloat for far longer this time around. In the meantime, it appears that WWE’s resources are going to go to the XFL even though it was said that wouldn’t be the case.

Below are several concepts the survey touted which might reveal more on possible rules and overall ideas for the league promising to be “football reimagined”.

“Warp speed football reinvented.” This is the marketing concept being used by the XFL to promote their plan to speed up the game of football.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-0089443260845542"

The possibilities for rules to help speed up the game might include no kickoffs, no timeouts, and a 20-second play clock which could eliminate huddles. The survey notes players will therefore be in better condition because they have less time to rest. Additionally, the running clock would only stop during a change of possession.

Other ideas being discussed include the following:

New helmets will reportedly be used in the XFL with no face guards so fans can see the facial expressions of the players during the game

Marching bands will be used much like in college football

“Backstage” locker room videos will be produced to allow fans to see what is happening behind-the-scenes during a game

Fans calling plays might be introduced, as the XFL plans to integrate the fans and social media into the live games as much as possible

This is interesting to note, because it wasn’t actually the XFL that sent this out, this was sent out by the WWE. This has been verified by numerous fans on Twitter, showing the survey on WWE’s Fan Council.

Vince McMahon established Alpha Entertainment to completely separate the XFL from the WWE, but that doesn’t mean that the two companies weren’t going to work together. This is evident by recent SEC filings. It shows just how much money is going between WWE and Alpha Entertainment/XFL and it also details the arrangement between the two.

“As previously announced, Vincent McMahon organized and owns a majority of Alpha Entertainment, LLC (“Alpha”), which owns and operates the professional football league XFL. Under arrangements made at the time of its organization, WWE received, among other things, an equity interest in Alpha without payment by, or other financial obligation on the part of, WWE; WWE sold certain intellectual property rights relating to XFL to Alpha for a payment in the amount of $1 million; and WWE entered into a support services agreement under which WWE provides Alpha certain administrative support services on a cost-plus margin basis. During the year ended December 31, 2018, Alpha was billed approximately $1,305,000 for services under the administrative support services agreement, of which $474,000 was due at year end and subsequently paid.”

In summary:

WWE sold intellectual property rights to Alpha for $1 million

Alpha was billed over $1.3 million for WWE providing administrative support

Alpha paid WWE $474,000 for that administrative support

While the XFL does have its own Careers page on its website, WWE also has a job posting for an XFL position on its website. This could be part of the services agreement between WWE and Alpha/XFL as the latter gets up and running.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-0089443260845542"
data-ad-slot=""
data-ad-format="auto"></ins>

So, even though Alpha Entertainment was created to keep the XFL’s operations separate from WWE, the XFL is still leaning on its big brother named World Wrestling Entertainment.

The Unexpected loss of the services of Vincent K. McMahon could adversely affect our ability to create popular characters and creative storylines or could otherwise adversely affect out operating results.

In addition to serving as Chairman of our Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. McMahon leads the creative team that develops the storylines and the characters for our programming (including our television, WWE Network and other programming) and live events. From time to time, Mr. McMahon has also been an important member of our cast of performers. The loss of Mr. McMahon due to unexpected retirement, disability, death or other unexpected termination for any reason could have a material adverse effect on our ability to create popular characters and creative storylines or could otherwise adversely affect our operating results. Mr. McMahon has established Alpha Entertainment LLC, to explore investment opportunities across the sports entertainment landscapes, and Alpha Entertainment LLC plans to launch a professional football league in early 2020 .
Vince McMahon’s announcement of the XFL’s 2020 revival included a promise that it would be kept separate from WWE and their resources. It was said that the two companies would not have anything to do with each other.

The eight cities and locations were announced that the XFL plans to use when they launch in February 2020. New York City was among those teams listed and NYC is a very special place to WWE. Not only did the company consider the New York area its territory for the longest time in the early days, but they are bringing WrestleMania back to Met Life Stadium in New Jersey next year which is in the immediate area.

Brad Shepard, who previously reported that the WWE’s employees have way more to do with XFL than previously thought, has uncovered another piece of evidence to support his report. He was able to pinpoint the same graphics being used to the XFL’s announcement of New York as a team and a video package the company used when announced WrestleMania 35’s location.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-0089443260845542"

data-ad-format="auto"></ins>

This is indeed a pretty compelling piece of evidence. If I were a betting man more pieces could very well be uncovered later on that shows XFL using other elements from WWE’s extensive bag of video tricks.

It was announced last night that Vince McMahon will return this Monday on RAW to “shake things up”, which has led many fans to wonder what he will announce.

Fire Baron Corbin? New General Manager? Draft?

Many are predicting that he will either fire Baron Corbin as RAW General Manager or a have WWE Draft, I’m going to go out on a limb and say it won’t be either of those and that McMahon will announce he is retiring from WWE and will focus on the new XFL.

To begin with, I don’t think WWE would waste a Vince McMahon appearance, especially this time of year, just to fire Baron Corbin and announce a new RAW General Manager.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-0089443260845542"
data-ad-slot=""
data-ad-format="auto"></ins>

By Monday’s RAW, we will already know if Corbin is fired or not, and that can easily be done by RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. This also makes storyline sense as it was Stephanie who made the stipulation for the Strowman-Corbin match at TLC.

Superstar Shakeup

While RAW could use a revamp on their roster, the timing isn’t right, as story lines for the new year and WrestleMania are about to begin.

The only moves that would make sense are moving around Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and/or Ronda Rousey since the three still have beef with one another. However, that can easily be done through the Royal Rumble match next month and I think fans would be underwhelmed if Mr. McMahon’s “huge shake-up” is just moving some people around.

Also, the only time a Superstar Shakeup makes sense, besides after WrestleMania, would be the first RAW of 2019. The next two RAW’s after this Monday fall on Christmas and New Year’s Eve respectively and those are usually poorly viewed episodes since viewers are spending time with family and friends. I don’t believe casuals would tune in just for a draft.

XFL

While the XFL doesn’t begin until the beginning of 2020, one would think that preparations are going to begin sometime next year, which would most likely require Vince’s full attention. Even in his good health, focusing on two things at once at his age might be the best idea for him.

Everyone knows Vince McMahon hates failing and the XFL was a major failure the first time. One would think that he is going to put his full energy into making sure it doesn’t fail a second time. I can see him stepping away from WWE to put his full focus on the XFL.
