Keep in mind, this is after we’ve been hearing reports that the XFL will be announcing team identities some time next week. Although there is no guarantee, we have been receiving numerous reports and leads that this will in fact be the case. It would make sense to hold some fan interaction activities after the announcements are official. When we had announced that team names may be coming next week, we had speculated it would happen prior to Wednesday. Now, we have two Q&A’s happening the following day. Is it possible we see some other teams coordinated a similar event? Only time will tell.

If you’re in the area, we highly suggest that you attend. This is your chance to inquire about any league related activities with members of the XFL. The location and time haven’t yet been specified, we’ll keep you in the loop when we learn more.

Last week we covered the first four Summer Showcase events, this week we shift our focus to the next two. We’re taking a look at some of the key prospects that attended the XFL Summer Showcase in Los Angeles and Seattle. Enjoy!

Despite being lightly recruited, Wright earned immediate playing time as a true freshman at the University of Arizona in 2013. He started 12 of 13 games, recording 83 tackles and an interception and garnering Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 honors. Wright remained a starter as a sophomore in 2014. He was a finalist for numerous awards, including the Walter Camp Award. He claimed the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Rotary Lombardi Award, Jack Lambert Award, Chuck Bednarik Award and also was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the first sophomore to ever win the conference award. Wright also earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors. He had the highest finish of any defensive player in the 2014 Heisman Trophy voting, finishing ninth on the ballot. As a junior in 2015, Wright played only 3 games due to injury, recording 2 sacks and 23 tackles. After his junior year, he announced his intentions to enter the 2016 NFL Draft.

Similar to Rahim Moore and Will Sutton, Wright most recently played for the Arizona Hotshots of the AAF as Linebacker.

Earlier we reported on Rahim Moore and Will Sutton attending the Summer showcase in Los Angeles. We’re now learning that former 2nd round pick for the Redskins, Fred Davis will also be in attendance.

Davis played for USC where he was selected to the All-Pac-10 Conference first team by league coaches. He was also selected to the SI.com All-American Second Team. Davis became the first USC player to win the Mackey Award as the nation’s top tight end.

Davis was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2008 NFL Draft by none other than XFL Seattle head coach, Jim Zorn.

Earlier we learned that Rahim Moore would be joining the Summer Showcase. We’re now learning that former 3rd Round Pick, Will Sutton will also be in attendance tomorrow for the XFL Los Angeles Summer Showcase.

Sutton was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft and played college football at Arizona State.

As a member of the 2012 team, Sutton earned Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and a 2012 College Football All-America Team selection. In high school, he led the undefeated 2008 Centennial High School California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) state championship football team in quarterback sacks. He is the son of Mickey Sutton.

Similar to Moore, Sutton most recently played for the Arizona Hotshots of the AAF.

We’re halfway through the Summer Showcases, and the next two are fast approaching. We just now got word from the XFL that former 2nd round pick and UCLA star, Rahim Moore will be in attendance in Los Angeles for Friday’s Summer Showcase.

As a freshman in 2008, Moore started all 12 games for the Bruins at free safety. He finished the season with 60 tackles and three interceptions and was on Rivals.com All-Pac-10 Freshman team.

As a sophomore in 2009, Moore led the nation in interceptions with 10, with the last one at the EagleBank Bowl game. His interception helped the Bruins to a 30–21 victory over the Temple Owls on December 29, 2009. Moore was named to the 2009 All Pac-10 first team along with four other UCLA teammates on December 7. Moore was also named to several All-American teams following the 2009 season.

As a junior, Moore recorded his first interception of the 2010 season against then-No. 23 Houston and helped his team to a 31–13 victory. A week later, Moore’s 8 tackles (7 solos) contributed to UCLA’s upset of then-No. 7 Texas Longhorns in Austin, Texas; there was a stadium-record crowd.

Moore went on to be drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round (45th overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft.

During the 2012-13 NFL Playoffs, Moore lost favor with Broncos management and fans due to a key gaffe during the Broncos game against the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional round. Moore was well-positioned to make an easy play on the ball but misjudged the trajectory and fell over, as the pass was completed Jones walked into the end zone for the game-tying touchdown. Baltimore would go on to win the game 38-35 in double overtime and eventually win Super Bowl XLVII.

Moore most recently played for the Arizona Hotshots of the AAF.

Just earlier today we learned that Winston Moss had hired five assistants for the Los Angeles franchise. We’re now hearing word that he has hired Norm Chow to take the role of Offensive Coordinator for the team.

Chow was the head football coach at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, a position he assumed in December 2011 until November 1, 2015. He has also previously held the offensive coordinator position for the Utah Utes, UCLA Bruins, the NFL’s Tennessee Titans, USC Trojans, NC State Wolfpack, and BYU Cougars.

Chow won the 2002 Broyles Award as the nation’s top collegiate assistant coach. He was also named the 2002 NCAA Division I-A Offensive Coordinator of the Year by American Football Monthly and was named the National Assistant Coach of the Year in 1999 by the American Football Foundation.

He is well known for developing quarterbacks. During his time as an assistant football coach, Chow has helped coach 8 of the top 14 career passing-efficiency leaders and 13 quarterbacks who rank among the top 30 in NCAA history for single-season passing yardage. The list of players he coached includes Jim McMahon, Steve Young, and Philip Rivers, as well as Heisman Trophy winners Ty Detmer, Carson Palmer, and Matt Leinart.
